Guatemala City is the center of business and Government institutions. It was declared Iberoamerican City of Culture 2015. Its rich history and diversity of people, has brought it to be recognized as the most developed capital of Central America.
It was established in 1776, after earthquakes destroyed Antigua Guatemala.
As part of the culture there is a wide variety of museums, cultural centers, parks, art in churches and other historical buildings. Guatemala City also boasts of an active nightlife on weekends.
This city is the perfect amalgam between the old fashion and modern.
