This city was the third capital of the Guatemala kingdom and due to its history, tradition and beauty was declared a "Cultural World Heritage Site" by UNESCO in 1979.
Those and other attributes have cataloged Antigua as a "City Museum" or "Live Museum". It never stops surprising those who visit this jewel of the Americas. Its people´s Catholic faith, kept all year around, specially during Lent and Easter is wittnessed in beautiful celebrations and flower covered streets.
To visit Antigua is to go back in time. On weekends weddings, quinceañeras and other social events are held in this historic city.
