An Acropolis represents the place where the most important ceremonies happened in prominent places like Tikal. The north Acropolis dates back to aproximately 800 B.C. It has been determined that different lineages built structures overlaping each other which resulted in protecting the earlier developing one of the biggest, active and dynamic complexes during Tikal´s occupation.
