Gucumatz Arch

This is an arch made by aartists from Quetzaltenango and chichicastenango.  Its location is a reference spot to the villagers and it represents one of the most important gods for the Mayan people. The Popol Vuh book cites it as the creator of water and teacher to man on how to create fire. This god is Known in Merosamérica as Kukulkán or Quetzalcoatl (the wind god).
