This is one of the most important temples in the highlands, due to its precolumbian original structure and as the site of the finding and translation the sacred Maya book known as "Pop Wuj" or "The book of Council". Santo Tomás is a "sincretic" church which allows worship of different religions. This exact spot is a landmark for the "Aj Q´uij" or Spiritual guides.
