Monterrico is a town located on the Pacific coast, has one of the most visited beaches by travelers.
All the pacific coast in the country is comformed by volcanic soil, which makes it fertile for crops and plantations..



Monterrico offers plenty of tourist options - hotels, restaurants & resorts. During the spawning season, two species of turtles come to the beach, and lay their eggs. The new born turtles are delivered into the ocean.



There is an ecological and conservationist institution led by the national Universidad de San Carlos, where biologists work and voluntee to take care of the enviroment, and native species like crocodile, alligator, different types of fish, turtles etc.



Monterrico has close proximity to archaeological sites, museums, and marinas for sport fishing. Permission can be granted to visit a sugar cane mill and/or a rubber tree plantation.
